Lung Function Test

Experiencing breathlessness or have been coughing for a long time for more than 100 days?  Maybe things are not as simple as what you think. Keen to find out how you can keep tabs on your lung health?

Generally, a cough may be triggered by many reasons, and one of the most effective ways to find out the cause of your prolonged cough is to do a lung function test.

At Etern Medical, we provide testing for both the peak flow and spirometry tests to check how well your lungs are and whether you have asthma.

Peak Flow Test

A peak flow test is a simple device that helps measure the maximum speed at which you can blow air out of your lungs. This will give you an idea whether you have poor lung functions. This may be due to narrowing of airways, reduction of lung volume or problem with the chest walls.  By repeating this test every 2-3months will help guide your personal lung management through exercise and medications

Spirometry Test

On the other hand, a spirometry test will be able to assess your breathing patterns and diagnose if you have asthma or obstructive lung disease [Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease COPD.]
